What are the types of abrasives?

1. Quartz sand is the most commonly used non-metallic abrasive with hard edges and corners. When it is sprayed on the surface of the workpiece, it has a strong scraping effect and good rust removal effect. The treated surface is relatively bright and has a small roughness. It is widely used in site construction. But it pollutes the environment and does great harm to the health of workers.

2. Copper ore is the slag from the smelting process, which is very cheap and easy to consume. It is very suitable for open sanding. In order to achieve good treatment effect, copper ore with particle size of 0.6~1.8mm is generally selected.

3. Metal abrasives, with low price and low sand content, are widely used in sanding in steel plate pretreatment workshops. The cutting effect of steel 9 in metal abrasives is small, so it can prolong the service life of the equipment, but its grinding roughness is small. Steel sand has great cutting effect, low strength, little rebound, moderate rent roughness, and generally high cost. The steel wire is used for shot cutting, but the cutting effect is large, but the roughness is too large. It is generally applicable to workpieces with low requirements.
